Rodin

The Process

How It Works

01

Paste your writing

Upload your Obsidian vault, paste a Notion export, or copy in anything you've written — notes, essays, journals, threads. The more text you provide, the more accurate your fingerprint. A few thousand words is a good start.

02

AI reads how you think

Rodin sends your writing to Claude (Anthropic's AI) with a prompt designed to find patterns in how you think — not just what topics you've covered. It looks across your whole body of writing for what keeps recurring, what you keep circling without resolving, and who shaped your frameworks.

03

Your fingerprint is extracted

You receive seven layers: your intellectual one-liner, recurring themes, open questions, mental models, intellectual DNA, blind spots, and the single core question driving all your thinking. Each layer reveals something you probably know but have never seen articulated this precisely.

04

Create a public profile

Add your name and a contact handle (Twitter or email). Your profile page goes live at rodin.fyi/p/[id] — shareable as a link, downloadable as a card, readable by anyone.

05

Find people who think like you

Your profile page shows similar thinkers — other Rodin users whose themes, questions, mental models, and intellectual DNA overlap with yours. Their contact handles are on their profiles. The connection starts there.

FAQ

What is an intellectual fingerprint?
An intellectual fingerprint is an AI-generated analysis of your writing that surfaces the recurring themes, unresolved questions, mental models, intellectual influences, blind spots, and the core question driving your thinking. It reveals how you think, not just what topics you've covered.
What writing should I paste?
Anything you've written yourself: Obsidian vaults, Notion exports, blog posts, essays, journal entries, or even long tweet threads. The more text, the better. At least a few thousand words gives the AI enough signal to find real patterns.
How accurate is the fingerprint?
Accuracy depends on the quality and quantity of your writing. Most people find the themes and questions highly recognizable — "yes, that's exactly what I keep thinking about." The blind spots section tends to be the most surprising. It's an interpretation by an AI model, not a psychological assessment.
Is my writing stored?
No. Your writing is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the fingerprint, then immediately discarded. Rodin stores only the derived fingerprint — not your source text. Your notes never touch our database.
Can I delete my profile?
Profile deletion is not yet available in-product. Email privacy@rodin.fyi with your profile URL and we will delete it within 30 days.
What does "similar thinkers" mean?
After your profile is created, Rodin compares your fingerprint against other profiles using a similarity score across themes, questions, mental models, and intellectual influences. The closest matches appear on your profile page.
